Four new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:
- Pedro N. Cardona, 46, Colombia Bogota North Mission; Niquia Ward, Medellin Colombia Stake; stake president; former stake president's counselor, and branch president and counselor; professional salesman; born in Yali, Colombia, to Pedro Nell and Maria Teresa Zuluaga Cardona; married Maria Garcia, four children. She is a Relief Society teacher; former Relief Society president and counselor, and Young Women president; born in La Merced, Colombia, to Juan DeDios and Maria Dolores Echeverry Garcia.- Robert G. Dyer, 50, Texas McAllen Mission; Cardiff 1st Ward, Del Mar California Stake; stake president; former high councilor, bishop's counselor, branch president, Young Men president, high priests group leader, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Cordoba Argentina Mission; attorney; received bachelor's degree in chemistry and juris doctorate from BYU; born in Washington, D.C., to James Glenn and Nona Richards Dyer; married Lynda Hancock, 10 children. She is a Sunday School teacher; former Primary president, Young Women president's counselor, Primary chorister, and Laurel adviser; received bachelor's degree in elementary education from BYU; born in La Jolla, Calif., to Lynn Young and Ada Bell Gifford Hiner Hancock.
- Roberto Ocampo, 48, Honduras Comayaguela Mission; Ideal Ward, San Pedro Sula Honduras Stake; mission president's counselor; former regional representative, stake president, district president, and bishop; director of the Church Educational System in Honduras; received bachelor's degree in science and letters from Minerva Institute and bachelor's degree in education from Regional University Center of the North; born in El Porvenir, Honduras, to Fausto and Claudina Reyes Ocampo; married Argentina Martinez, seven children. She is director of visiting teachers; former stake Primary president, stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president, Primary president, seminary teacher, and Junior Sunday School coordinator; born in Azacualpa, Honduras, to Jesus and Rubenia Santacreu Martinez.
- Maughn M. Pearson, 59, California San Fernando Mission; Oak Hills 5th Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake; stake physical facilities representative and Sunday School teacher; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, branch president's counselor, Young Men president, elders quorum president, and Scoutmaster; accountant; received bachelor's degree in accounting from BYU; born in Logan, Utah, to Marden Dobson and Paulma Thompson Pearson; married Loralee Spencer, five children. She is a Sunday School teacher; former Relief Society president and counselor, Primary president's counselor, Young Women president's counselor, Young Women adviser, Sunday School teacher, and Primary teacher; born in Richfield, Utah, to C.G. and Nelda Jane Tanner Spencer.
