O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.

Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. - 2 Ne. 4:34-35.Since I was a young boy I have had a stuttering problem. As I grew older I was able to overcome the problem with practice and hard work.

I was called to serve in the Washington Spokane (Spanish-speaking) Mission, and found I had another weakness that my Heavenly Father could make a strength. I found that just because I conquered my stuttering in English, I didn't conquer my stuttering in Spanish. As I went through the Missionary Training Center and the classes, I became disheartened and thought myself unable to do the work. A great and very patient sister in my district helped me to overcome my problem. She used this scripture, helping me to realize how I can overcome any hardship placed in my path.

Through hard work and faith in my Heavenly Father, I have truly had my weakness turned into strength. - Elder Robert Joseph Devereaux, Washington Spokane Mission.
