Even though there wasn't sufficient food to feed the Dutch, members in Holland received permission in November 1947 to transport 75 tons of potatoes to members of the Church in Germany. "They are to be congratulated," President McKay said, "that they can perform this act of welfare service to members of the Church who live in a country which has caused them so much suffering and hardship during recent years."
