- Snow continued to fall Saturday afternoon, coating the grounds on Temple Square. The grounds, vacant of the hundreds of Church members who usually gather outside the Tabernacle during conference, seemed unusually quiet; a clean, peaceful feeling filled the air.

Inside the Tabernacle, members stood and enthusiastically sang "We Thank Thee, O God, For a Prophet." Their warm feelings for the prophet were evident.

President James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency, conducted the session. A combined choir, made up of the Logan and Ogden Institutes, conducted by Don Castleton and accompanied by Bonnie Goodliffe, provided music. They performed "True to the Faith," "Joseph Smith's First Prayer," and "I Feel My Savior's Love."

Elder Harold G. Hillam and Elder Lynn A. Mickelsen, both of the Seventy, gave the invocation and benediction, respectively.
