- The Sunday morning session may well be remembered as the time when President Gordon B. Hinckley - with witticism and testimony - shared some of his thoughts and feelings in such a way that members gained a glimpse into the spirit and heart of the president of the Church.

It was a session rich in testimony of the Savior and His many roles as Redeemer and Lord. Many in the congregation had assembled on Temple Square early and huddled beneath umbrellas in gentle spring rains in hopes of getting a seat in the Tabernacle.

President Hinckley conducted the session. The Tabernacle Choir, led by Jerold Ottley and Craig Jessop, with Richard Elliott on the organ, performed six selections. Elder Gene R. Cook offered the invocation and Elder Spencer J. Condie offered the benediction. Both are members of the Seventy.
