Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. They are:

David Frederick and Mary Jane Babbel

David Frederick Babbel, 52, Brazil Brasilia Mission; Broomall 1st Ward, Valley Forge Pennsylvania Stake; professor of finance and insurance, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; Young Men president, former stake Young Men president, high councilor, bishop and counselor; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frederick William and June Andrew Babbel. Married Mary Jane Benson, four children.

She is a stake Young Women president and organist and former ward Primary president and counselor and Cub Scout leader. She was born in Bloomington, Ill., to Walter Latham and Rose Isabella Schlosser Benson.

Bessie Lee and H. Arthur Barney

H. Arthur Barney, 56, California Fresno Mission; Bloomington 1st Ward, Bloomington Utah Stake; co-owner, broker of Coldwell Banker; high councilor, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president's counselor and Young Men president; born in Payson, Utah, to Oren Earl and Thelma Brown Barney. Married Bessie Lee Hopkin, seven children.

She is stake Relief Society president and is serving as a missionary in the St. George Utah Temple cafeteria and has been a counselor in the Young Women and Primary and stake Young Women presidencies. She was born in Provo, Utah, to Robert Charles and Bessie Johnson Hopkin.

Peter Roland and Genivive Barr

Peter Roland Barr, 58, Baltic Mission; Toukley Ward, Newcastle Australia Stake; director, owner of Birdel; mission president's counselor and former stake president and counselor, stake mission president and counselor and bishop; born in Skoudas, Lithuania, to Kazys and Marta Peteavicius Barstys. Married Genivive Romaniak, four children.

She is Relief Society enrichment leader and former stake and ward Primary president, Young Women president's counselor and seminary teacher. She was born in Koblenz, Germany, to John and Katarina Pirog Saladino Romaniak.

Renita Kay and Terry Frank Calton

Terry Frank Calton, 43, Bolivia Cochabamba Mission; Grandview 2nd Ward, Mesa Arizona Central Stake; CES institute instructor; teacher improvement coordinator and former stake Young Men president, high councilor, bishop's counselor and Sunday School teacher; born in Billings, Mont., to William Bert and Shirley Lee Simonis Calton. Married Renita Kay Fife, five children.

She is a Primary teacher and accompanist and has served as Relief Society president, and counselor to Primary and Young Women presidents. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Marlyn Lee and Eliza Rose Ruf Fife.

DeAnna and F. Lynn DeBry

F. Lynn DeBry, 57, Brazil Sao Paulo South Mission; Olympus 1st Ward, Salt Lake Olympus Stake; chief financial officer for Cirque Corp.; bishop and former counselor, high priests group leader, stake Young Men president; born in Ogden, Utah, to Francis J. and Helen Greenwood DeBry. Married DeAnna Pickett, five children.

She is Relief Society visiting teacher supervisor and is a former Young Women and Primary president, Relief Society president's counselor and music director at Promised Valley Playhouse. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Donald H. and Helen VanDuinen Pickett.

C. Eugene and Dianna Lee Hymas

Carl Eugene Hymas, 64, Colorado Colorado Springs Mission; Country Oaks Ward, Layton Utah Kayscreek Stake; program manager of Atlantic Research Corp.; Sunday School teacher, former stake president's counselor, bishop, stake mission president's counselor and high priests group leader; born in Burley, Idaho, to Jesse Pratt and La Mona Bills Hymas. Married Dianna Lee Strauch, five children.

She is Relief Society secretary and has served as ward Activities Committee chairman, Relief Society homemaking leader, counselor in Young Women presidency and Church service missionary in the Utah Ogden Mission. She was born to Raymond Arthur and Ella Louise Gerke Smith Strauch.

Guilherme and Solange Peixoto

Guilherme Tell Peixoto, 45, Brazil Florianopolis Mission; Iguatemi Ward, Ribeir�o Preto Brazil Stake; banker at Bank of Brazil; stake president, former high councilor, branch president, bishop and high priests group leader. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Almiro Joaquim and Daura Ribeiro de O. Val Peixoto. Married Solange Gaspar, three children.

She is Relief Society president's counselor, and former family history consultant, Relief Society instructor and gospel doctrine and Young Adult teacher. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Waldemiro Jr. and Orbelia Peixoto Gaspar.

Jorge E. and Jeannette Trujillo

Jorge Eduardo Trujillo, 43, Colombia Cali Mission; Unicentro Ward, Bogota Colombia Stake; materials management manager for South America North Area of the Church; area historian, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, branch president and stake clerk; born in Bogota, Colombia, to Melquisedec and Teresa Hernandez Trujillo. Married Jeannette Medina, three children.

She is a Relief Society president and former seminary, gospel doctrine and gospel essentials teacher, and Primary and ward music leader. She was born in Bogota, Colombia, to Jairo and Ana Serrato Medina.
