Location: 13111 Brayton Dr., Anchorage; (907) 348-7890, on the same site as the Anchorage Alaska Stake center.

Schedule: All temple sessions are by appointment; sessions are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m., with additional 6 a.m. session on Wednesday and Saturday; priority given to members of temple district.

Temple presidency: Merrill D. Briggs, president; Keith J. Anderson, R. Dan Farr, counselors.

Rooms: Celestial room, one ordinance room, one sealing room, baptistry.

Dimensions: 6,800 square feet; 78 by 110 feet; gold-colored 6-foot statue of Angel Moroni rises 55 feet.

District: Anchorage, Anchorage North, Fairbanks, Juneau, Soldotna, Wasilla Alaska stakes, and the Bush District of the Alaska Anchorage Mission. It is also the nearest temple for members in parts of northern Canada.

Pertinent facts: Announced Oct. 4, 1997, by President Gordon B. Hinckley; ground broken April 17, 1998, by Elder F. Melvin Hammond, then-first counselor in the Northwest Area presidency; open to the public Dec. 29-31, 1998, with 14,131 visitors; and dedicated in seven sessions Jan. 9-10, 1999, by President Hinckley.
