The First Presidency has announced the calling of George F. Hilton as director of the Hawaii Temple Visitors Center, and Stanley C. Kimball as director of the Oakland (Calif.) Temple Visitors Center. They will be trained at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, on Feb. 8-12, and begin their two-year terms of service following their training.
George F. Hilton, 68, was born in Berkeley, Calif., to Eugene and Ruth Savage Hilton. He married Yvonne Marie Horta, and they are the parents of seven children. They are members of the Lafayette Ward, Oakland California Stake. He has served as president of the Tahiti Papeete Mission, sealer in the Oakland Temple, bishop, high councilor and medical humanitarian missionary in the India Bangalore Mission. He is an ophthalmologist. Sister Hilton was born in Oakland, Calif., to Felix Joseph and Isabelle Fanny Young Horta. She has served as a temple ordinance worker, stake missionary, family history center librarian, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and served with her husband in India and Tahiti.
Stanley C. Kimball Jr., 67, was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Stanley Clark and Margaret Carter Kimball. He married Carolyn Joan Thatcher and they are parents of seven children. They are members of the Laguna Beach Ward, Laguna Niguel California Stake. An orthodontist, he has served as president of the Florida Tallahassee Mission, temple ordinance worker, stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, and bishop's counselor. Sister Kimball was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to John William and Eva Hansen Thatcher. She has served as temple ordinance worker, stake Young Women president's counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, counselor and teacher, and served with her husband in Florida.
