Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:

Federico Aguilar A., 44, Mexico Oaxaca Mission; Union Ward, Mexico City Mexico Arbolillo Stake; stake president; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and ward secretary; seminary teacher; received bachelor's degree in math education from Normal Superior FEP, and master's degree in business administration from Chapultepec University; born in Mexico City to Porfirio and Molina Carmen Aguilar Aguilar; married Yolanda Cordova, three children. She is a former counselor in Relief Society presidency and Relief Society teacher; received master's degree in geography from Normal Superior FEP and teaching degree from Benemerito de las Americas; born in San Pedro, Mexico, to Castre Jon Juan and Hernandez Rosario Uribe Cordova.

Gregory M. Capson, 45, New Zealand Wellington Mission; Concord 2nd Ward, Walnut Creek California Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former bishop, Young Men president, teachers quorum adviser, and seminary teacher; chief executive officer and president of Alliance Hospital Services; received bachelor's degrees in finance and management from the University of Utah, and master's of business administration degree from Golden Gate University; born in Salt Lake City to Albert Maurice and Patricia Pohlman Capson; married Sue Stewart, six children. She is a seminary teacher; former Primary president, counselor in Relief Society presidency, Beehive adviser, and Primary chorister; received nursing degree from Utah Valley State College, and attended BYU; born in Salt Lake City to Homer Tilden and Laura Melissa Wells Stewart.

Richard N. Christensen, 54, Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission; Riverside Ward, Columbus Ohio Stake; counselor in the Ohio Columbus Mission presidency; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, bishop and counselor, executive secretary, Young Men president, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Brazilian South Mission; professor at Ohio State University; received bachelor's degree in physics from BYU, and master's degree in mechanical engineering and doctorate in nuclear engineering from Stanford University; born in Minot, N.D., to Rangwell Niels and Mable Smyth Christensen; married Pamela Little, five children. She is stake Relief Society president; former stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president, Primary president and teacher, seminary teacher, name extraction trainer, Relief Society teacher and inservice leader, and Young Women teacher; received bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from BYU; born in Ogden, Utah, to George Rich and Edna Eliza Porter Little.

Noel Alberto Diaz, 42, Colombia Cali Mission; Niza Ward, Bogota Colombia Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former high councilor, bishop's counselor, branch president, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Colombia Cali Mission; business manager; received bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of La Salle, and attended the University of El Rosario and the University of Los Andes; born in Ambalema, Colombia, to Sibares and Maria Ines Gonzales Diaz; married Nury Lara, three children. She is a Sunday School teacher; former counselor in stake Relief Society presidency, stake single adult representative, Relief Society president, counselor in Young Women presidency, and Sunday School teacher; English program coordinator at the University of La Sabana; received certificate in teaching English as a second language from the University of California-Santa Barbara, bachelor's degree in languages from the University of La Salle, and attended the University of Los Andes; born in Medellin, Colombia, to Luis Antonio and Rosela Isabel Niebles Lara.

Stanley G. Ellis, 52, Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission; Olde Oakes Ward, Houston Texas North Stake; stake president; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, bishop's counselor, ward executive secretary, Young Men president and counselor, elder's quorum president, Sunday School president, and missionary in the Brazilian Mission; chairman and chief executive officer of First Meridian Inc.; received bachelor's degree in government from Harvard, and juris doctorate from BYU; born in Burley, Idaho, to Stephen Briggs and Hazel Taylor Ellis; married Kathryn Kloepfer, nine children. Laren M. Gertsch, 48, Santo Domingo West Mission; Midway 5th Ward, Midway Utah Stake; high councilor; former bishop, elders quorum president, Young Men president and counselor, Scoutmaster, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in Veracruz, Mexico; director of marketing services for Williams Pipeline; received bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from BYU; born in Heber, City, Utah, to Ray Oscar and Maeda Alice Murri Gertsch; married Claudia Bale, five children. She is ward family history consultant; former counselor in stake Young Women presidency, member of stake Primary board, stake cultural arts specialist, Relief Society homemaking leader, Mia Maid adviser, Beehive adviser, Primary teacher, and missionary in the England London East Mission; attended BYU; born in Montrose, Colo., to Jack G. and Marie Evelyn Arnold Bale.

Mauro J.
