Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency.
The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July
1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:
Glen Harlan Clark, 66, Mongolia Ulaanbaatar
Mission; Short Hills Ward, Scotch Plains New Jersey Stake; patriarch and
missionary in the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission; former temple worker,
member of Church writing committee for Sunday School manual, mission
president's counselor, stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake
seventies president, stake missionary, bishop, Young Men president,
counselor in Sunday School presidency, priests quorum adviser, Sunday
School teacher, Scoutmaster, and missionary in the Great Lakes Mission;
retired elementary school principal; received bachelor's degree and
master's degree in elementary education from the University of Utah, and
doctor of education degree from Columbia University; born in Coalville,
Utah, to Leonard and Edith Clark Clark; married Mary
Alice Jeppson, six children. She is serving with her husband as a
missionary in the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission; former member of stake
Relief Society board, stake public affairs director, and ward Relief
Society and Primary president; received bachelor's degree in history,
English and education from the University of Utah, and master's degree from
Teacher's College at Columbia University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to
Joseph Gaddis and Zorah Horne Jeppson.
Arturo Galindo R., 51, Mexico Guadalajara
Mission; Rio Sacramento Ward, Chihuahua Mexico Technologico Stake; Sunday
School president; former stake president and counselor, bishop, and
missionary in the South East Mexico Mission; institute director for Church
Educational System; received electrical technician degree from Chihuahua
Technology School; born in Jimenez, Mexico, to Jose Carmen Galindo C. and
Elisa Rubalcava R. de Galindo; married Cayetana Ruiz
R., five children. She is ward Relief Society teacher; former ward
Relief Society president and teacher, and Primary teacher; born in
Delicias, Mexico, to Felipe Ruiz B. and Carolina Rios L. de Ruiz.
Ross Martin Madsen, 52, Brazil Recife
Mission; Granger 10th Ward, Salt Lake Granger East Stake; stake president's
counselor; former high councilor, stake executive secretary, bishop and
counselor, ward executive secretary, elders quorum president, Sunday School
teacher, Cubmaster, and missionary in the Guatemala/El Salvador Mission;
Granger High School teacher; received bachelor's degree in history and
Spanish, and master's degree in education, both from the University of
Utah; born in Gunnison, Utah, to Martin Christian and Lois Mary Andrus
Madsen; married Eleanor Ellice Chambers, four
children. She is a Relief Society teacher; former stake Relief Society
president and counselor, ward Relief Society homemaking leader, and Primary
teacher; born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to James and Elizabeth Muriel
Stevenson Chambers.
Craig Neil Pacini, 45, Italy Rome Mission;
Ensign 1st Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake; Scoutmaster and varsity coach;
former high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor,
Sunday School teacher, temple ordinance worker, and missionary in the Italy
North/Milan Mission; director of compensation and benefits for the Church;
received bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and bachelor's degree
in Italian, both from Stanford University, and master's degree in business
administration from the University of Utah; born in San Francisco, Calif.,
to LeRoy Thomas and Venice LaWana Davis Pacini; married Julie Anne Metcalfe, seven children. She is ward
Relief Society homemaking counselor; former Primary president and
counselor, and Sunday School teacher; born in Wellington, New Zealand, to
Derek Frank and Maureen Lenore Dawn Ottley Metcalfe.
Rafael Eduardo Pino G., 43, Argentina Rosario
Mission; Mercedes Ward, Caracas Venezuela Stake; stake president; former
member of mission presidency, stake clerk, bishop, ward clerk, and served
in Venezuela Mission; regional manager of temporal affairs for Church area
office; attended University of Carabobo; born in Valencia, Venezuela, to
Arturo Pino A. and Maria Josefina Gimenez de Pino; married Patricia Villa de Pino, three children. She is a
counselor in ward Primary presidency; former Sunday School teacher, Relief
Society teacher, and Family History adviser; attended University of
Carabobo; born in Barranquilla, Colombia, to German Villa and Rosalba
Palmieri Dassier de Villa.
Richard L. Pitcher, 58, California San Diego
Mission; Littleton 2nd Ward, Nashua New Hampshire Stake; high priests group
leader; former stake president, bishop, elders quorum president, Young Men
president, ward mission leader, branch president, and missionary in the
Central British Mission; president of Blackstone Marketing; received
bachelor's degree in statistics and computer science from Utah State
University; born in Logan, Utah, to Leo M. and Marie Petty Pitcher; married
Sandra Webster, three children. She is ward
activities committee chairwoman; former regional and stake public affairs
director, stake Young Women president, and counselor in ward Relief Society
presidency; received associate degree in English from Ricks College, and
bachelor's degree in English from Utah State University; born in Rexburg,
Idaho, to Frank R. and Belle Hamilton Webster.
R. Conrad Schultz, 61, Colorado Denver South
Mission; Eugene 4th Ward, Eugene Oregon Santa Clara Stake; Sunday School
teacher and temple ordinance worker; former stake president and counselor,
high councilor, bishop, seminary teacher, and missionary in the Gulf States
Mission; attorney; attended BYU, and received juris doctorate degree from
the University of Oregon; born in North Bend, Ore., to Ralph Conrad and
Dorothy Pearl Bushong Schultz; married Carolyn
Lake, five children. She is ward choir director and temple ordinance
worker; former stake Relief Society president, stake and ward Primary
president, and stake and ward Young Women president; received bachelor's
degree in nursing from BYU; born in Eugene, Oregon, to Ralph Ball and Helen
Florence McDonough Lake.
Fernando A. Silva, 42, Brazil Salvador Mission; Mercedes Ward, Caracas Venezuela Stake; bishop; former ward executive secretary, counselor in elders quorum presidency, ward secretary, ward mission leader, and branch president; country manager for Continental Grain Co.; received bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, master's degree in business administration, and master's degree in agricultural business, all from BYU; born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Caneades Castro Silva and Moema Coaracy Muniz Silva; married Monica Jacerda Muniz Lacerda, four children. She is in the ward Relief Society presidency; former counselor in ward Young Women's presidency, and Sunday School teacher; received associate degree in fashion merchandising from Utah Valley State College, and attended CEUB University in Brazil, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Renato and Maria Jose Rodrigues Lacerda.
