And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.D&C 119:4

"Tithing is a law of God and is required of His followers," said President Spencer W. Kimball during the welfare session of the 1980 general conference. "To fail to meet this obligation is to fail in a very weighty matter.

"Again I say, tithing is a law of God and is required of His followers. To fail to meet this obligation in full is to omit a weighty matter. It is a transgression, not an inconsequential oversight.
