Four new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency.
The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July
1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:
James G. Andrus, 61, Venezuela Caracas
Mission; Pleasant View 4th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; high
priests group leader; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor,
stake mission president, mission president's counselor, counselor in
district presidency, bishop and counselor, ward mission leader, elders
quorum president, seventies group leader, Blazer Scout leader, Sunday
School teacher, priests quorum adviser, and missionary in the Central
American Mission; retired commander of the 3rd U.S. Air Force in the United
Kingdom and NATO Chief of Staff; received bachelor's degree in geography
from BYU, and master's degree in area studies/Latin America from the
University of Utah; born in Bell, Calif., to James Roman and Irva Rose
Pratt Andrus; married Joan Morrison, five
children. She is a counselor in the Young Women presidency; former
counselor in district Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women president
and counselor, Relief Society president and counselor, seminary teacher,
choir director, and Primary chorister; attended BYU and Glendale Community
College; born in Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., to James Carl and Mary Cecelia
Bowen Morrison.
Delwyn L. Richardson, 63, El Salvador San
Salvador East Mission; Huntsville 1st Ward, Huntsville Utah Stake; family
history consultant; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor,
stake Sunday School president, bishop and counselor, high priests group
leader, ward executive secretary, Young Men president, Aaronic Priesthood
adviser, Scouter, and missionary in northern Mexico; retired school
teacher; received bachelor's degree in Spanish and psychology from Weber
State University, and master's degree in organizational behavior and Latin
American Studies from BYU; born in Ogden, Utah, to Leland Clawson and Helen
Rasmussen Nielsen Richardson; married Williamena
McKay, seven children. She is a Primary teacher; former stake Young
Women president and counselor, stake family records extraction director,
ward Relief Society president and counselor, Primary president and
counselor, counselor in Young Women presidency, Relief Society and Primary
chorister, ward music chairman, ward and Sunday School chorister, Cub Scout
den mother, activities committee speech director and sports director;
Huntsville, Utah, town clerk and U.S. Forest Service employee; attended
Weber State University; born in Huntsville, Utah, to James Gunn and
Elizabeth Catherine Peterson McKay.
Robert H. Sangster, Armenia Yerevan Mission;
Stevensville 1st Ward, Stevensville Montana Stake; former stake president,
high councilor, stake mission president, bishop, Scoutmaster, and
missionary with his wife in Armenia; retired rancher and electrical
contractor; born in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Harry and Madge Waymire
Sangster; married Sandra Mortensen, eight
children. She is a former stake missionary, stake Relief Society president
and counselor, ward Young Women president and counselor, seminary teacher,
and missionary with her husband in Armenia; attended Northern Arizona
University; born in McNary, Ariz., to Keith Arvin and Helen Louise
Montierth Mortensen.
Reed N. Wilcox, 51, France Marseille Mission; Southglenn 3rd Ward, Littleton Colorado Stake; ward Young Men president; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, bishop and counselor, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Franco Belgian Mission; chairman and chief executive officer for The Lifelike Company; received bachelor's degree in economics and international relations from BYU, and master's degree in business administration and juris doctorate from Harvard; born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to George Neil and Afton Fryer Wilcox; married Diane Kimball, four children. She is a Sunday School teacher; former stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary teacher, and seminary teacher; received bachelor's and master's degrees in communicative habilitation from BYU, and attended La Sorbonne in Paris, France, and Northwestern University; born in Denver, Colo., to Raymond Alonzo and Adrus Hansen Kimball.
