St. George Tabernacle

A little more than 100 years ago, President Lorenzo Snow stood at the pulpit of the St. George Tabernacle and, while speaking to a congregation, received the revelation on tithing. Today, the tabernacle, in which the first meeting was held in 1869, still stands and Church services are still held there. The tabernacle was also the site of scenes for the Church film, "Windows of Heaven," depicting President Snow's visit to St. George in May 1899 and the events relating to the tithing revelation. The historic edifice is on the corner of Tabernacle and Main streets, one block south of St. George Boulevard.
