Open house dates scheduled for three temples in U.S.

The First Presidency has announced the open house and dedication dates of three more temples in the United States.

The Bismarck North Dakota Temple will be dedicated in three sessions on Sunday, Sept. 19, with the temple opening for ordinance work the following day, Sept. 20. A two-day open house will be held a week prior to the dedication on Sept. 10-11. The Bismarck temple was announced July 29, 1998, with the groundbreaking ceremony held Oct. 17, 1998.

Dedication of the Columbia South Carolina Temple will be Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 16-17 in six sessions, with the open house scheduled for Sept. 30 to Oct. 9. However, during the two days of general conference, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3, the open house will not be held. The temple will be opened for ordinance work on Oct. 18. The Columbia temple was announced Sept. 11, 1998, and the ground was broken on Dec. 5, 1998.

The Detroit Michigan Temple will be dedicated in six sessions on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23-24, with the temple opening for ordinance work on Oct. 25. Open house of the temple will be Oct. 8-16, except on Sunday, Oct. 10. The Detroit temple was announced Aug. 10, 1998, with the groundbreaking ceremony held Oct. 10, 1998.

Last week, the First Presidency announced the dedication dates for the Spokane Washington Temple on Aug. 21-23, and for the Columbus Ohio Temple on Sept. 4-5.

When the five temples are dedicated, there will be 63 temples in operation worldwide.
