More than 4,000 members of the Church in the Nordic countries were "strengthened by counsel from a prophet of the Lord and other General Authorities" during an area conference in Stockholm, Sweden, Aug. 17-18, 1974, according to the Aug. 24, 1974, Church News.
President Spencer W. Kimball presided over the conference which included special sessions for youth, parents and priesthood leaders. There was also a festival held the night before the conference. All events and meetings were held in Stockholm's International Fair and Congress Center where the main auditorium had a capacity of 5,000.
Members attended from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, the article said. It added: "The flags of five nations flew over the convention center as the conference got underway. The four nations involved had their ensigns waving in the breeze, and the Stars and Stripes, in honor of the visiting General Authorities, also flew alongside the other banners."
Among the General Authorities accompanying President Kimball to Sweden were his first counselor, President N. Eldon Tanner; President Ezra Taft Benson, president of the Quorum of the Twelve; and members of the quorum, Elders Howard W. Hunter, Boyd K. Packer and Bruce R. McConkie.
