Dedication dates announced for temples in Alberta, North Carolina

Dedication and public open house dates for the Edmonton Alberta and Raleigh North Carolina temples, which will be the Church's 67th and 68th operating temples, have been announced by the First Presidency.

The Edmonton Alberta Temple will open its doors to the public Dec. 3-4 and will be dedicated on Dec. 11-12 in seven sessions. Following dedication, the temple will open for ordinance work on Dec. 13.

Open house for the Raleigh North Carolina Temple will be Dec. 3-11, except Sunday.

The temple will be dedicated Dec. 18-19 in seven sessions, and opened for ordinance work Dec. 20.

The First Presidency announced the Edmonton Alberta Temple Aug. 11, 1998, and ground was broken Feb. 27, 1999.

The Edmonton Alberta Temple district consists of 14,802 members living in four stakes, three in Edmonton and one in Red Deer, Alberta, and the Grand Prairie Alberta District.

The Raleigh North Carolina Temple was announced Sept. 3, 1998, and ground was broken Feb. 6, 1999.

The temple district includes eight stakes and is made up of 27,600 members.

Currently, there are 61 operating temples in the Church and another 54 announced.

Temples awaiting dedication include the Columbia South Carolina Temple, which will be dedicated Oct. 16-17; Detroit Michigan, Oct. 23-24; Halifax Nova Scotia, Nov. 13; Regina Saskatchewan, Nov. 14; and Billings Montana, Nov. 20-21
