Young men should plant seeds of faith that will grow into strong testimonies that can withstand the strong winds of adversity.

The Parable of the Sower exemplifies how seeds will be accepted into different types of soil. Compared to seeds that fell by the wayside, those who are "good ground" will hear the word, understand it, live it and reap eternal rewards.

"If you are willing to invest now, you young men will have the opportunities to accomplish as much as any generation that has ever lived . . . We believe the salvation of the world has been placed upon the priesthood of this church. This responsibility rests squarely upon us. We cannot shirk it."

Along with seeds of faith, young men should invest in education, acquiring skills including another language.

Each member needs to nourish their seeds of faith so they will continue to take root. President Hinckley has also urged members to help new members so that the seeds planted by the missionaries can grow and develop.
