President Thomas S. Monson will address a missionary satellite broadcast Sunday, Feb. 20, held to coincide with local open houses where members can bring friends and investigators to learn more about the gospel.
President Monson, first counselor in the First Presidency, will speak for 30 minutes, with his remarks centering on strengthening families.
The program will be broadcast Sunday at 4:10 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time) and repeated at 6:10 p.m., and 8:10 p.m., allowing for an opening hymn, prayer and welcoming remarks.
"We suggest that an open house be held in connection with the program," stated a letter to priesthood leaders from President Boyd K. Packer, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve. "Local leaders should determine the format for the open house, which should be organized and conducted under the direction of the stake presidency, assisted by the stake mission presidency and the stake and full-time missionaries."
