VANCOUVER, Wash. Dedicated to the theme "We care," members of the Vancouver Washington West Stake recently participated in "a family day of service."
The collective efforts of the stake yielded more than 1,000 hygiene kits, nearly 1,400 toys, almost 4,800 first aid items and more than 500 educational bags. In addition clothing, quilts, afghans and blankets were sent to LDS Humanitarian Services.
Candace L. Estrada, who participated in the event, said, "It was wonderful to see a parking lot full of cars containing families who put aside a few hours on a Saturday afternoon to give of their time and efforts to help those they will probably never see.
