CARDSTON, Alberta Feeling like they had spent "a day in heaven," 165 members of the Lethbridge 1st Ward, Lethbridge Alberta Stake, participated in a special family temple activity May 13 at the Cardston Alberta Temple.
Primary children, meeting in a nearby chapel, took part in activities that focused on the temple. Young men and young women in the ward participated in baptisms for the dead. Adults, who had not been through the temple, attended a temple preparation class in the visitors center. Endowed adults participated in an endowment session inside the temple.
After the activities, the ward members joined together for a potluck lunch at a Church meetinghouse near the temple.
Bishop Ron Tanner said the day had a unbelievable impact on the ward. Before leaving for the temple, he counseled members to remember the Savior during the day's activities. "Today, learn of Him, listen to His words, walk in meekness and you will have peace in your heart," Bishop Tanner said.
Indeed, he added, many ward members, found peace in the temple.
Bishop Tanner said he believes that he will continue to see the fruits of the temple activity. "The feeling within the ward is so good," he said.
