BRAMPTON, Ontario More than 180 young single adults gathered June 24 at the Toronto Ontario Temple to paint the fence surrounding the temple grounds. The service project was inspired by Leslie Stead, president of the Institute Council of Southern Ontario, and C. Stanley Hodder, building engineer for the temple. Although organized by the Toronto Region, young adults participating in the project were also from Montreal, Ottawa, New York, Michigan and Ohio.
In preparation for the event, paint, brushes, rollers, gloves, protective gear, paint trays and coveralls had to be purchased. In addition, the fence had to be prepared.
Drivers of numerous cars passing the temple grounds honked their horns as a token of approval for the service project.
