Retiring after 29 seasons as head football coach at BYU, LaVell Edwards has had a remarkable record on his home turf.

In Cougar Stadium, now officially LaVell Edwards Stadium, the coach's teams won 133 games while losing only 33. The Cougars were undefeated in the stadium during 10 seasons of their famed coach's tenure with wins over such nationally prominent teams as Miami, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and Washington scattered along the way.

Also referred to by many as "The house that LaVell built," the stadium was expanded prior to the 1982 season from a seating capacity of 35,000 to a capacity of 65,000. It has been filled to capacity many times with the largest crowd of 66,247 on Oct. 16, 1993, against Notre Dame.
