President Gordon B. Hinckley presents BYU Coach LaVell Edwards with a football signed by the members of the 1984 national championship team before the coach's last home game in Provo, Utah, on Nov. 18. Just before presenting the football, President Hinckley also announced to a delighted crowd that Cougar Stadium will now be known as LaVell Edwards Stadium: Home of the BYU Cougars.
Earlier this year, Coach Edwards announced his retirement after the current football season ends. See page 3.
