Centenarians
Charles Cunningham of the Redmond 2nd Ward, Redmond Oregon Stake, celebrated his 100th birthday on Christmas Day, 2000. He was born in Baker City, Ore. His first wife, Etta, died when he was 52. He and his second wife, Lucile, have been married for 47 years. He made his career as a mechanic. He continues to attend his Church meetings regularly.
Glen Park Vincent of the Modesto 4th Ward, Medesto California Stake, celebrated his 100th birthday on Dec. 29, 2000. He was born in Provo, Utah, and married Ada Grange in 1925. He practiced medicine for 62 years and was a base surgeon in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a member of a stake presidency, a bishop, and patriarch in his stake until 1998. He and his wife have three sons, 15 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Carroll James Hanson of the Mar Vista Ward, Los Angeles California Santa Monica Stake, celebrated his 100th birthday on Dec. 31, 2000. He was born in Hyrum, Utah, and moved to Los Angeles, Calif., with his family when he was a teenager. He married Helen Williams and they were sealed in the Los Angeles California Temple. They have two children, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He and his wife served a mission in West Virginia. Brother Hanson built houses and was a set decorator for MGM studios for more than 20 years.
Golda Brady Henderson of the South Davis Community Hospital Branch, Bountiful Utah Heights Stake, celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 16, 2001. She was born in Fairview, Utah, to Lindsay E. and Dorothea Gurena Brady. After her family moved to Buhl, Idaho, she met James W. Henderson and they were married in the Logan Utah Temple. Sister Henderson, who has served in many Church callings, enjoys singing and writing poetry.
