Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Here are their names and biographical information. New mission presidents and their assignments were presented in the March 10th issue.
Camille C. and Hugo Boren
Hugo Boren, 57, Pleasant View 5th Ward, Provo
Utah Sharon East Stake; will preside over the Panama Panama City Mission;
self-employed as management consultant; earned master's of business
administration degree and bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from
Brigham Young University; born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Samuel and
Clara Angela Lorenzi Boren. Married Camille
Christensen; five children. She earned a bachelor's degree in family
relations from Brigham Young University; born in Richfield, Utah, to Alten
and Alta Wintch Christensen.
Roger P. and Elaine W. Christensen
Roger Paul Christensen, 53, Granite 16th
Ward, Sandy Utah Granite South Stake; will preside over the California Long
Beach Mission; partner in the law firm of Christensen & Jensen; earned
juris doctor degree from the University of Utah and bachelor's degree in
political science and Spanish from Utah State University; born in Logan,
Utah, to Paul Driggs and Beth Mae Guymon Christensen. Married Elaine Wright; five children. She earned bachelor's
degree in German and English from Utah State University; born in Frankfurt,
Germany, to Amos Luther and Gloria Gene Hanson Wright.
Luis G. and Gladys Duarte
Luis Gustavo Duarte F., 39, Cerro Grande
Ward, Comayaguela Honduras Torocagua Stake; will preside over the Peru
Trujillo Mission; manager and owner of Inversiones Mercantiles; graduated
from Instituto de Contabillidad as a public accountant; born in
Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to Jose Gustavo Barahona Flores and Rosinda
Esperanza Fonseca M. de Duarte. Married Glady
Ernestina Zeitun; three children. She earned a law degree from
Universidad Nacional de Honduras; born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to Raul
Elias and Guadalupe Genoveba Borjas de Zeitun.
David W. and Ekaete D. A. Eka
David William Eka, 55, Rumveme Ward, Port
Harcourt Nigeria Stake; will preside over the Nigeria Lagos Mission; head
of production for Nigerian Agip Oil Co.; earned bachelor's degree in
electronics engineering from Teesside Polytechnic; born in Etinan, Nigeria,
to William Udo and Lucy Eduok Inyang Eka. Married Ekaete Dennis Akpan; five children. She earned a
degree in public administration from Teesside Polytechnic; born in Etinan,
Nigeria, to Dennis Duff and Esther Brown Akpan.
Marcia G. and Luiz C. S. De Franca
Luiz Carlos S. De Franca, 38, Sacramenta
Ward, Belem Brazil Stake; will preside over the Brazil Londrina Mission;
Church Educational System coordinator and former pharmacist at the Naval
hospital of Belem; earned a degree in pharmecy and biochemistry from
University of Para; born in Belem, Brazil, to Jose Soares and Maria Amelia
Silva De Franca. Married Marcia Do Socorro
Galan; three children. She attended the Universidade do Estado; born
in Belem, Brazil, to Carlos Correa and Maria de Fatima Dos Santos Galan.
Alonzo A. and Stephanie S. Hinckley
Alonzo Arza Hinckley, 63, Holladay 10th Ward,
Salt Lake Holladay Stake; will preside over the Washington Seattle Mission;
retired former general manager of Publishers Press; earned bachelor's
degree in business from the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City,
Utah, to Arza Athaniel and Erma Jessie Taysom Hinckley. Married Stephanie Leone Smith; four children. She earned
bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Utah; born
in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph McKinnon and Bertha Leona Grames
Smith.
Jimmie A. and Sue L. Sanders
Jimmie Allen Sanders, 59, Imperial Valley 4th
Ward, El Centro California Imperial Valley Stake; will preside over the
Nigeria Port Harcourt Mission; architect; earned bachelor's degree
architecture from Cal Poly University; born in Modesto, Calif., to James
Alford and Oleta Barhs Sanders. Married Sue
Lemaster; six children. She studied business at Brigham Young
University; born in Ventura, Calif., to E. Grant and Edith Hawkins Lemaster
(Rainwater).
Anne R. and Marion D. Woods
Marion Darryl Woods, 53, Winder 10th Ward,
Salt Lake Winder Stake; will preside over the Texas San Antonio Mission;
president, Presiddent, CEO and owner of Republic Mortgage Co.; earned
master of business degree and bachelor's degree in sociology from Brigham
Young University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lewis Wesley and Helen
Hunt Woods. Married Anne Rees; four children.
She studied child development and family relations at Brigham Young
University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stanley Davis and Helen Deon
Gaddie Rees.
