A trip that took President Heber J. Grant to several eastern U.S. cities concluded with his return to Salt Lake City on May 19, 1926, according to the May 20, 1926, Deseret News.
The focus of his trip was the 16th annual convention of the Boy Scouts of America in Washington, D.C. Also in attendance at the convention was Elder George Albert Smith of the Quorum of the Twelve. Speakers included U.S. President Calvin Coolidge and Lord Baden Powell, the founder of Scouting.
His journey also took President Grant to New York City, Boston and Chicago, where he attended meetings with members of the Church and with missionaries.
