LAIE, Hawaii The BYU-Hawaii women's tennis team made NCAA history May 5, winning their 100th consecutive dual match by defeating the University of Hawaii at Hilo in the NCAA II West Regional Final, 5-0. The No. 1 ranked Seasiders, 33-0 in the season, advance to the NCAA II National Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.
No other team, men's or women's, in NCAA history has ever won 100 matches in a row. The Seasider streak began with the first match of the 1998-99 season, BYU-Hawaii's first as an NCAA II school.
Since then the Seasiders have beaten 23 NCAA Division I schools, eight NAIA teams, six NCAA Division III teams and 63 NCAA II teams. Included in the wins are back-to-back NCAA II title runs.
