LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Missionaries serving in the visitors center at the Los Angeles California Temple say that every day they "feel attitudes softening and see a growing interest in the gospel" among the people in Southern California.

In the past 16 months, the visitors center has generated more than 20,000 referrals where missionaries have been invited to share the gospel. These referrals, said Elder Thales Derrick, director of the visitors center, have resulted in a significant number of conversions.

Since January 2000, each of the 20 sister missionaries serving at the visitors center has generated an average of 1,085 referrals. "The sisters are working very hard and are diligent in their labors," said Elder Derrick. "[But] we recognize that it is the Spirit that is being very generous to the missionaries and the people of Southern California."
