Elder LeGrand Richards of the Quorum of the Twelve, whom President Harold B. Lee called "one of the great missionaries of the Church," was bold and forthright in proclaiming the gospel throughout his life.
At general conference of October 1972, after giving an exuberant sermon about the restored gospel, Elder Richards declared:
"Brothers and sisters and friends who might be listening in, we are doing all we know how to do to share with you these wonderful truths.
"Since all of you Latter-day Saints have been asked to be missionaries, and the Lord said, '. . . it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor,' (Doctrine and Covenants 88:81), you need to bear that witness wherever opportunity presents itself. It is the greatest message in all the world today; and that is my testimony to you."
