SHARPSBURG, Georgia — Amber Crist, the individual winner in the Georgia state precision air riflery competition, recently received an NCAA Scholar-Athlete Award. A junior at East Coweta High School and Laurel in the Sharpsburg Ward, Jonesboro Georgia Stake, Amber has her sights set on the 2004 Summer Olympics.

The daughter of a gunsmith, Amber began shooting at age 3 and grew to love the sport. She is in her school's ROTC program and attends early-morning seminary.
