SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two members of the Church won gold medals in their age divisions at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics at California State University-Sacramento the last week of July.

Delia Cesar of the El Paso 4th Ward, El Paso Texas Stake, won the gold medal in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:18.78. The 14-year-old also captured a bronze medal in the 1,500-meter run. To reach the nationals, she earlier won both races at regional competition in Albuquerque, N.M.

Jameson Harris, a deacon in the West Point 10th Ward, West Point Utah Stake, captured the gold in the high jump at Sacramento. He was one of two jumpers to clear the bar at 5-feet, 3-inches, but was declared the champion because he had fewer misses. Jameson also advanced by winning in the Albuquerque regionals.
