A stunned and grieving nation turned to prayer and patriotism following the devastating terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York, and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Sept. 11 that may have cost upwards of 5,500 lives.
Church members joined memorials, relief efforts and service projects in an effort to reach out to those in need and to soothe their own grief. See pages 1-10, 16.
