PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Arizona chapters of the BYU Alumni Association hosted the 3rd annual LDS Community Day at a Diamondback baseball game Sept. 29. More than 600 Church members attended pre-game activities at Heritage Square, next to the Diamondback Bank One Ballpark. An additional 400 members attended the game.

Before the game, LDS dignitaries, athletes, politicians and area authorities were introduced. Dale Murphy, formerly of the Atlanta Braves, threw the first pitch of the game. Thurl Bailey, formerly of the Utah Jazz, sang the national anthem.
