Members from some 70 stakes volunteered to help place lights on the grounds of the Los Angeles California Temple. The lights were switched on Nov. 24. A torrential rainstorm precluded the usual ceremony that was canceled because of safety concerns. Although the number of lights was reduced because of Southern California's energy problems, those that remain have been placed differently and are very attractive, said Keith Atkinson, director of public affairs for Southern California.
