A dramatic opening ceremonies started the 2002 Olympic Winter Games Feb. 8. Hundreds of Church members, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, BYU musical groups and athletes from 77 countries — including at least seven LDS athletes — participated in the grand event, watched by 3.5 billion people worldwide as estimated by NBC.
