Sell-out audiences totaling more than 300,000 people saw "Light of the World," the Church's theatrical production staged at the Conference Center during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Popularity of the show required three additional performances be added to the original 10-performance run, including a benefit for Olympic Aid.
Kim E. Farah of Church Public Affairs said a number of Olympic and other dignitaries attended. These included Mike Wallace of the CBS News program "60 Minutes"; Olympic skater Kristi Yamaguchi, members of the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee and representatives of the Disney corporation.
The soundtrack is now available on compact disc and can be purchased for $5.75 at any Church distribution center, online at www.ldscatalog.com and by telephone at 801-240-3800 or toll free at 1-800-537-5971.
The original music for the production was performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square and the International Children's Choir. Music was created by award-winning composers Kurt Bestor, Sam Cardon, Tyler Castleton, Kenneth Cope, Staci Peters and David Zabriskie.
