President Thomas S. Monson, first counselor in the First Presidency, will address young women of the Church, ages 12 to 18, March 30 during the General Young Women Meeting to be broadcast from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Mothers and Young Women leaders are invited to view the satellite broadcast, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MST).

In a letter dated Feb. 18, 2002, to general and local Church leaders President Boyd K. Packer, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve, encouraged those young women, their mothers and leaders to "meet together in chapels to view the broadcast. The meeting will be under the direction of the stake or district presidency."

Also addressing the young women of the Church will be Sister Margaret D. Nadauld, Young Women general president, and her counselors, Sister Carol B. Thomas and Sister Sharon G. Larsen. The theme of the meeting will be "Stand Ye in Holy Places." A new song composed for the meeting, "In That Holy Place," will be presented. (Please see the March 2002 New Era for a copy of the song.)

The meeting will be telecast at 6 p.m. (MST) via the Church satellite system to meetinghouses in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America. It will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. (MST). In Europe and South Africa, it will be telecast via the Church satellite system on April 6. In the United States, it will be shown over BYUTV (DISH Network, channel 9403, DISH 500 system; DirecTV, channel 374, DirecTV Plus system). It will also be sent over the LDS Radio Network (DISH Network, channel 980; Telstar 5, transponder 11, 3934.8 MHz, data rate 3.648 Mbs, 3/4 FEC, A02 audio PID, vertical downlink). In Utah, members can watch at 8 p.m. on KBYU-TV Channel 11 or listen at 6 p.m. over KBYU-FM Radio (89.1 and 89.5 frequencies). Members can also view proceedings at www.lds.org on the Internet on March 30 at 6 p.m. (MST) and April 6 at 8 a.m. (MST).
