"Conference was joy," said visitors from around the world who attended the 172nd Annual General Conference.

The warm spring weather, without the traditional April showers, offered a pleasant experience for those who attended, some waiting in lines four blocks long before entering the Conference Center, some enjoying the proceedings in the Tabernacle while others listened to the sessions outdoors at Temple Square and the Church plaza.

"We liked it very much," said Elders Joao Martins Silva, Paulo A. Grahl and Yatyr Cesar, Area Authority Seventies from Brazil. "President Hinckley spoke about our lives as members with the priesthood," said Elder Grahl. "We liked it so much. We just have to do more and do it better."

"It is hard to express, but I feel like I can partake of their spirit when I hear the speakers. . . . I just feel their conviction," said Elaine Hollinger, Springville (Utah) 8th Ward. "Almost from every speaker, I can find things that prick my heart."

"The conference was excellent," said Bessie Myeng of Calgary, Alberta. "The talks always have something important for everyone. They speak of all the things we have to remember — all the things we need in our lives and to be better families."

"The talks were a joy," said William Garcia, originally from Ecuador. "They lift the heart. We have peace and joy, and at the same time, we feel very happy."
