BETHESDA, Md. Despite the end of the Olympics, the Church remains a "Friend to All Nations" as it continues to reach out to neighbors throughout the world.
The acclaimed BYU Ballroom Dance Company gave a private dance performance to foreign ambassadors, LDS politicians and General Authorities May 13, at the home of LDS Senator Gordon Smith (R-Oregon) and his wife, Sharon.
"The hospitality and warmth the Church extended to the world during the Olympics continues with events like this," said Sen. Smith. Mingling with representatives from 17 countries were LDS Senators Harry Reid (D-Nevada) and Robert F. Bennett (R-Utah) and LDS House of Representatives Ernest Istook (R-Oklahoma) and Wally Herger (R-California).
Also in attendance were Elders Ralph Hardy Jr. and T. LaMar Sleight, Area Authority Seventies.
