The Church's first temple in the Netherlands is nearing completion and will be available for public viewing during an open house scheduled to begin Sat., Aug. 17.

The open house will continue until Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, with the exception of Sunday, Aug. 18, and Sunday, Aug. 25. At the conclusion of the open house, the temple will be closed to the public. The temple will be dedicated Sunday, Sept. 8, in four dedicatory sessions.

After the dedication, the temple will serve more than 13,000 members of the Church in the temple district that covers the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of France.

The Hague Netherlands Temple, which lies below sea level, is built of polished granite. It is of classic modern design with a total of almost 14,500 square feet. It is located in Zoetermeer, a suburb outside The Hague.

After the dedication, The Hague Netherlands Temple will be the 114th working temple built by the Church.
