President Gordon B. Hinckley will observe his 92nd birthday Sunday, June 23.

He is scheduled to offer welcoming remarks to a gathering of Volunteers of America at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Sunday morning broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word; afterward, he plans to commemorate his birthday quietly with family members.

Less than a week after his birthday, he will dedicate on June 27 the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. He will remain in Nauvoo through the conclusion of the dedicatory events June 30.

President Hinckley has asked that the Church News express his thanks to those who sent cards, letters and other birthday greetings. Because of the volume of mail, neither he nor his office staff can respond to all who sent greetings.
