Exterior: The limestone exterior, quarried in Alabama, is a near duplicate of the original temple, including the design elements.
Size: 54,000 square feet, measuring 90 feet by 30 feet, and is 162 feet, 5 inches tall.

Contractor: Legacy Constructors of Salt Lake City, Utah.
District: More than 13,000 Latter-day Saints living in western Illinois, northeastern Missouri and eastern Iowa.
Pertinent facts: Announced April 4, 1999; groundbreaking Oct. 24, 1999, by President Gordon B. Hinckley; cornerstone laying Nov. 5, 2000; open house May 6-June 22, except Sundays, attended by 331,849; dedicated June 27-30, 2002, by President Gordon B. Hinckley in 13 sessions, opened for ordinance work July 1, 2002.
