At the close of a morning of remembrance and reflection, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed "America the Beautiful" on live television Sept. 11.
The choir's performance, in the final moments of NBC's Today show, provided "powerful voices in a meaningful way," to wrap up coverage of a "difficult morning across this country for so many people," said co-anchor Matt Lauer.
"Patriotic music has been important to all of us in the last year and no one does it better than the 330 voices of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir under the direction of Craig Jessop," he said.
