The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square have released two new video programs: "The Joy of Christmas with Angela Lansbury" and "Historic Visit to Nauvoo."

"The Joy of Christmas" combines the choir and orchestra with one of the most enduring and beloved stars of film, theater and television. In this concert — attended by some 80,000 people during four performances — the spirit of Christmas comes alive with reverence, joy and a bit of childhood magic. Veteran actress and Academy and Tony Award-winner Angela Lansbury sings "We Need A Little Christmas," "Not While I'm Around," and "Beauty and the Beast." She delights the audience with her reading of "Trouble at the Inn" and the retelling of the Savior's birth from the biblical account in Luke.

As part of the activities surrounding the dedication of the Nauvoo Illinois Temple, the choir recorded its weekly Music and the Spoken Word broadcast in front of the newly dedicated temple. "Historic Visit to Nauvoo" includes songs of praise and patriotism from that broadcast, including "Come, Come Ye Saints," "Redeemer of Israel" and "America the Beautiful." Also included are selections such as "The Spirit of God," "Saints Bound for Heaven" and "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" interspersed with commentary by Lloyd Newell, announcer of Music and the Spoken Word.

Interviews with temple craftsmen, construction workers, and a guest performance by Enoch Train provide background and flavor to this historic, unforgettable visit to Nauvoo by the choir.

The videos are available in both VHS and DVD formats. There is bonus footage on both DVDs in addition to the musical performances. Both of the new video recordings will be available in retail stores and LDS booksellers throughout the United States.
