Family: Born Jan. 10, 1953, to Richard William and Barbara Woodhead Winder in Granger, Utah; married John S. Tanner Sept. 3, 1974, in the Salt Lake Temple; five children, Jonathan, Barbara (Steven) Sandberg, Rebecca (Isaac) Bingham, Elizabeth (serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission), and MaryAnne; three grandchildren.
Church Service: Member of the Relief Society general board at the time of her call as Young Women general president; former member of Church Curriculum Committee, stake Young Women president, stake Relief Society and Primary counselor, president and counselor in ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary, Laurel adviser, gospel doctrine teacher, Cub Scout den mother and nursery leader.
Education: Bachelor's degree in humanities from BYU, 1984.
Community service: PTA president and board member, 4-H Club leader, volunteer with American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
