BYU seeks stories for 'Education in Zion' exhibit

PROVO, Utah — BYU is seeking stories of outstanding educators of all kinds for a major exhibit on "Education in Zion," which will be located in the new Joseph F. Smith Building now under construction on campus.
"There's so much to tell about our traditions and achievements," said Terry Warner, a BYU professor of philosophy and coordinator of the exhibit.
Brother Warner and his staff are interested in stories about people, past or present, who have made a difference or whose example can show others a better way. The people in the stories may be students, teachers, staff or administrators in schools, seminaries or institutes of the Church. They may also be individuals studying elsewhere on their own or teaching in their families.
Brother Warner said the new display space will honor educational pioneers, past and present. "Throughout the history of the Church of Jesus Christ we have kept alive the stories of our pioneer ancestors," he said. "But we are mostly unaware of those who created our educational tradition.
"Telling that amazing story is what the university's new exhibit is all about," he said.
