BALTIMORE — The Nauvoo Illinois Temple was named one of three winners of the Palladio Award during the Restoration & Renovation Baltimore Exhibition and Conference March 20.
Winner in the category of public architecture for New Design and Construction was FFKR Architects of Salt Lake City for their replication of the original 50,000-square-foot Nauvoo Temple, constructed in 1846. The newly constructed Nauvoo Illinois Temple was dedicated last June.
Organized and produced by Clem Labine's Traditional Building magazine, the Palladio Awards honor outstanding achievement in traditional design. The award is named in honor of Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance architect who created modern architecture for his time, while using models from the past for his inspiration and guidance.
