Family: Born Jan. 22, 1936, to Thomas Jennison and Martha LaVern Watts Parmley, Utah; married Shanna Lee, Aug. 17, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple; four children, eight grandchildren.

Church Service: Gospel doctrine teacher in Alamo 1st Ward, Danville California Stake; former Area Authority Seventy; stake president; bishop; missionary in the Northwestern States Mission (1957-59).

Education: Bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard; medical degree from Johns Hopkins Medical School; internal medicine training from Johns Hopkins Medical School and Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.

Employment: Chief of Cardiology at University of California San Francisco.
