BOULDER, Colo. — On Memorial Day, May 26, 12 full-time missionaries serving in the Boulder and Longmont Colorado stakes dressed for their preparation day, but not in the casual clothes usually worn on their day off. They put on their traditional "uniform," complete with name badges on white shirts and ties. Then, instead of hitting the pavement tracting, they joined in one of the largest foot races in the world, the Boulder Bolder, giving out 75 "pass-along cards" to some of the 100,000 spectators lining the route.
Cleta Fenton, Longmont stake media specialist, said the event draws approximately 45,000 professional athletes and amateur runners and walkers from all over the world. Elder W. Scott Langston, a zone leader in the Colorado Denver South Mission, remarked, "It was a great opportunity to show the missionaries as real people."
