515 wheelchairs donated in Samoa

APIA, Samoa — Elder Robert K. Dellenbach of the Seventy presented 515 wheelchairs to Mulitalo Siafausa, Samoa's Minister of Health, June 16. The chairs, donated by the Church in cooperation with the Wheelchair Foundation, will help those at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Motootua, Apia. The pharmacy division of the Hospital will distribute the wheelchairs based on verified need.

The Church, working with the Wheelchair Foundation, has donated more than 40,000 wheelchairs worldwide. Also among those participating in the donation were Gary L. Winters of Church Humanitarian Service; Joe Keil, Samoan Minister of Trade, Commerce and Industry; and Joel Hodges of the Wheelchair Foundation.
